NCRJHS THEOLOGY  DEPARTMENT

 

The theology curriculum at Nashua Catholic has two major components.  The first component emphasizes the Foundations of the Catholic Church.  Who is Jesus?  This is addressed when we study the four gospels.  How do we remember Jesus?  We take a journey through the history of the mass.  Additionally, we are enriched by the study of the sacraments.

 

The second component focuses on how to "be" church.  Catholic social justice teachings are explored.  We learn of our Catholic past with Church history.  How do we emulate Jesus?  We study our brothers and sisters of the faith, those canonized saints who serve as wonderful role models.  We also study the Ten Commandments and see how they are part of every day life.

 

There is a mutual thread that runs through both components.  Where can we encounter God?  After a careful examination of scripture and individual bible verses, hopefully we will realize that we encounter God in the faces of our neighbors.
