Summer will be here sooner than you think!  We are looking forward to our seventh annual SUMMER STARS ENRICHMENT PROGRAM!  This year, we have FOUR new and exciting courses!  Please read the course descriptions below!  In years past, we have SOLD OUT!  Current/Incoming NC students may register immediately!  (We'll be opening registration to the public on April 15.)  Check our website for registration forms for each course, or you may contact the appropriate teacher to register!  Don’t miss out on a great summer at Nashua Catholic!

This course is based on the critically acclaimed “Top 20 Teens” program. 

Your child will learn basic “life skills”:  getting along with teachers,

other students, teammates, and how to work to his or her greatest potential. 

Fun, engaging, real life examples and down-to-earth practical advice will

teach your child how to be a success in Junior High, both academically and personally.

FINE ARTS COURSE OFFERINGS:

 Summer Art Course Registration Form

COLORED PENCIL REPOUSSÉ: (Contact Lynne Ouellette:  louellette@ncrjhs.org)

 

In this course students will learn the ancient form of relief sculpture, known as repoussé.   Students will use a matte-black aluminum foil sheet and soft colored pencils.  They will create original designs that resemble stained glass or enamel inlay by pressing into the soft metal then shading areas with various colors of velvety Prismacolor pencils. 

 

Fee:  $105 (current/incoming NC students)   snacks included

        $110 (non-NC students: must be entering grades 7 or 8)  snacks included            

PLUS a $30 Art Materials include: 

•           2 ArtEmboss Metal Sheets

•           Prismacolor Pencils, Tin Box Set of 12

•           Mounting Board for two finished pieces

BEAD and JEWELRY MAKING:   (Contact Lynne Ouellette:  louellette@ncrjhs.org)

 

In this course students will learn to make beads out of air hardening clay to create beautiful pieces of jewelry.  One specific bead students will learn to make in this class is the fingerprint bead.   Not only is it beautiful, it is meaningful as well.  These easy-to-make beads are perfect for trading and making memorable gifts.   Each student will have a kit of materials to make several different necklaces, bracelets or earrings.

          $110 (non-NC students: must be entering grades 7 or 8) snacks included

                   PLUS a  $40 Art Materials include: 

•           Sculpt-It! Air Hardening Clay, 2 lb tub

•           1 pair Jewelry Pliers

•           Necklace, Bracelet and Earring Making Supplies

•           Jacquard Pearl-Ex metallic powder paint
