Dear Parents and Students,
We are entering the final weeks of the school year. The 8th
Grade graduation dance will be Friday, June 8, at NC from
7PM-10PM with light refreshments and tropical drinks
available - thanks to the Curran Family for the liquid
refreshments. The last day for 8th graders will be Monday,
June 11 with all classes meeting for a shortened length of
time. Classes will be followed by the Annual 8th Grade
Awared Ceremony- parents are cordially invited to attend.
The 8th Grade will hold graduation practice on Tuesday, June
12 from 10 AM-11:30AM. After this practice, parents are
requested to pick up their child at 11:30 sharp. The Class
of 2007 will be graduating on Thursday evening, June 14 at
Immaculate Conception Church. Students are to report to the
reception hall at 5:30AM. Mrs. McFadden wishes to remind
parents and students that graduation gowns should be hung on
a hanger - DO NOT IRON. Flowers and boutineers should be
pinned to the gown on the right side.
The results of the Terra Nova Testing are in. Parents may
either pick up their child's results at the school or wait
until the results go out with our last report card mailing.
Our summer athletic camps are scheduled to begin on June 25
and continue with selected age groups throughout July ( See
our website and brochures for additional information)

History Department News:
Things are winding down in the history department as the
school year comes to an end. In the 8th grade social science
class, the students completed their archeological "dig"; the
8th grade history classes discussed the past two
administrations (George H.W.Bush and Bill Clinton), in
comparison to the present administration. The 7th grade
history classes undertook their big project of the year-they
transformed into immigrants (1895-1920) and arrived at Ellis
Island, complete with costume, research, and their foreign
language. Most of them became loyal americans;
unfortunately, some were deported back to the "old" country
due to various illnesses or other conditions.
Both the 7th and 8th grade have summer reading to do again
this summer, in preparation for the first fall project. For
a list of the summer reading assignments, by grade, please
visit the Nashua Catholic website. Enjoy your reading-and
your time off. Have a fun and safe summer!!

Admissions Corner:
The Spring Open House was a great success! Thanks to all the
teachers, staff and students for giving their time and
talent and to the parents that encouraged our visitors to
come. Although this effort is primarily for 5th Graders,
this year every new contact 6th Grader that visited on May
3rd has enrolled at Nashua Catholic for next year! Again,
thanks to all for a terriffic team effort for Nashua
Catholic!
7th and 8th Grade Openings
YES! Nashua Catholic does have openings in both grades at
this time. Our primary admissions season is from October
through mid March to accommodate financial aid deadlines. We
encourage families to call, visit and tour Nashua Catholic
on an on going basis.
A Note on Textbooks:
Textbooks will not be used in classes after June 11th.
Varsity Books will be at Nashua Catholic on June 12 from
1:00 to 4:00 to purchase your used 2006-2007 textbooks.
After this date, you can download shipping labels from the
Varsity Books web site to sell your books back to Varsity.
You may purchases your student's textbooks at
www.varsitybooks.com starting the end of July. Your
student's course numbers will be sent to you in June. These
course numbers are to be used to locate required purchases
on varsitybooks.com Once on the site, your student's course
numbers are used to find the required purchases for each
class. We encourage you to order by early August for the
best selection and quickest delivery. Students are required
to have their books for the August school start. Varsity
Books proved to be a clear and convenient way for our
parents to purchase books last year. Our Nashua Catholic web
site will have next year's textbook list up in June. It will
have more ISBN's in math, in particular, from which to
choose used books. ALWAYS purchase books according to their
ISBN. Changes in this year's book list include dropping all
1980's copyright numbers and adding some books with CD-ROM's
or internet access. Please remember to order your books
early. Students must have textbooks by the first day of
school.
