Dear Parents and Students,
NC Receives Donation:
We are pleased to announce that Bon Bon's Mobil Station at 140
Dw Highway, Merrrimack, NH has awarded Nashua Catholic a check
for $500 through ExxonMobil's Educational Alliance Program. Bon
Bon's Mobil has participated in the Educational Alliance Program
for a number of years and has been a consistent "friend" of our
NC community.
Admission Corner:
On November 28, 2007 Nashua Catholic held its annual Open House
for prospective students and parents. Nearly 100 families,
representing 16 area schools, came to see the difference that
Nashua Catholic can make. The reports from our visitors
reflected the outstanding enthusiasm of our teachers and staff.
Many visitors commented on how they had been encouraged by our
in-house families to check out Nashua Catholic. Thank you for
continuing to share your enthusiasm with all. Many thanks also
to the teachers, staff and students who put in an extra long day
to make this event a huge success!
Our next event will be Step-Up Day on January 25, 2008 for any
6th grader interested in an exceptional junior high environment.
Please have parents call us at 882-7011 for registration.
It you have a 6th grade student in public school, please request
an application as soon as possible. Interviews for siblings are
at the discretion of the parents. All students must register for
Step-Up Day.

MATH HELP
Mrs. Reilly would like to remind parents that all of our
textbooks (except for the Honors Algebra text) have websites
which include extra practice problems and quizzes for each
lesson as well as a practice test for each chapter. These can
also be printed and used offline. Some textbook sites even have
video tutorials for each lesson.
Please encourage your child to take advantage of these free
resources which many of our students are finding very
beneficial. Most pages of the student textbook reference these
websites. The websites are listed below, but you can also find
these and other math sites at www.schoolnotes.com/03064/mrsreilly.htm.

the performance they will attend on December 14th at the Palace

The seventh grade literature classes are studying short stories
and myths and many are embarking on a short story writing
project.
Writers Club continues to meet from 3:00-3:45 on Mondays.
Students with a sincere interest in writing are always welcome.
News from the History
Department:
Now that the first quarter is over, the students have been
fighting wars on all fronts. In the 7th Grade, they have fought
the American Revolution (we won!), and are working on developing
the Constitution. In the 8th Grade, we have fought WWI and are
in full swing for the Roaring 20"s, as the students work on
skits and interviews.
In addition, the weekof December 17th will be the Annual
Geography Bee, which will take place that Monday and Tuesday.
Good luck to all of the students and have a wonderful holiday!

the neat accessories we carry that can make great stocking
suffers, for example American Girl doll jumpers, hair bows,
backpacks, plaid lunch boxes, etc.

Nashua Catholic FIRST LEGO
League team advances to the New Hampshire State Tournament:
The Nashua Catholic FIRST LEGO team, the Space Cowboys, won
first place for project research at the regional tournament held
at Bishop Guertin on November 10th. They presented energy
solutions for Nashua Catholic after conducting an energy audit
of the building. The team's robot placed 2nd in the first
preliminary round and 3rd in the semifinals.
The team has advanced to the New Hampshire State Tournament
which will be held on December 8th at Nashua High School North.
The opening ceremonies for the state tournament will be at 8:30
AM. We invite all to come and show their support for the Nashua
Catholic team.
The team members of the Nashua Catholic FIRST LEGO team are:
Matthew Zeeb, Andrew Nissen, Greg Bilodeau, Michael Raposo,
Michael Aldana-Proulx, Andrew Sanborn and John Morgan Wight. The
team coaches are: Cida Zeeb, Jeff Zeeb and Marta Nissen. The
team's junior mentors are: Kristine Zeeb and Celia Nissen, both
of the Nashua Catholic Class of 2004.
The team would like to thank Mr. Boissonneault, Mrs. Kirkwood,
Mrs. Urquhart and Miss Matson for all their help with the team's
energy audit of Nashua Catholic.
Tuition Payments:
For those families who have selected Plan 2 (1/2 payment July 1
and December 1, 2007) please remember when sending your check
for December to deduct the tuition deposit of $200/student.
From Prayer and Service Club:
Thanks to the many families who purchased/and or donated money
to the Prayer and Service Club for our wreath making efforts.
Once again, the effort was a great success and many of your
students participated in making the wreaths so lovely. It is
just amazing what a few dedicated students with a common goal
can achieve! A special thanks to Mrs. Lehto who once again sent
in refreshments for the hungry student crafters.
Please consider purchasing a Nashua Catholic hand- crafted
ornament for your holiday tree made by the Prayer and Service
Club. (Perhaps a "stocking stuffer" for your NC student?) These
ornaments cost $5 each and are available from Mrs. Kirkwood in
the foyer. The proceeds will again go toward the efforts of our
club.
Thanks also to the many families who donated paper products,
health and beauty aids and laundry detergents. The ten families
who reside at Marguerite's Place in Nashua received these
generous donations in laundry baskets just in time for the
holidays. Hopefully, instead of worrying about household
essentials, their money can now go towards making a wonderful
holiday for themselves and their children.
We pray that you and your families enjoy a peaceful and blessed
Christmas season.
Mrs. McFadden and Mrs. Parolin

Athletic News:
Basketball teams are in full swing. We have two boys teams and
two girls teams this year. Best of luck all four teams, shaping
up to be a very interesting season. The wrestling team had their
first meet of the season this past Friday. The team is coming
together nicely. The cheerleaders are also getting together.
They hope to be on the sidelines of the basketball games very
soon. Fall sports parents, please check your child's room for
their team uniform, we still are missing equipment. Thank you
for your cooperation.

mittens to donate to local charities for distribution. Before we
package them up and send them on, we will use them to decorate
the Christmas tree in our foyer. Please consider purchasing one
of these articles and sending it into school with you child.
