CHILD SAFETY – VOLUNTEER PROCESS

 

Our school is committed to protecting God’s children by providing a safe and secure environment for all minors who participate in school activities.  As part of that effort, all employees and volunteers who regularly work with minors must undergo screening and attend training.  As a volunteer who works with minors, you are required to complete the following forms which can be found on the Diocese of Manchester website, http://www.catholicnh.org/child-safety/forms/ .  Send or bring the completed forms to school.

                     

  1. Volunteer Application – form rev. 06.10.12

 

  1. Criminal Records Check Form

·         NH Criminal Record Release form must be notarized and returned to NCRJHS. Diane Urquhart, the school business manager, is a notary and can assist you.  There is a N.H. State fee of $10, make checks payable to Nashua Catholic.

·         Massachusetts Criminal Check Form (CORI) – Government issued photographic identification required. (MA. residents only)

 

  1. Training – One of the following must be completed:
    • NOT ON MY WATCH Creating Safe Child Environments – can be taken online as an alternative to the live PGC training session.  Go to www.nhchildsafety.org  to register. Use the registration code: child safety.

·         Protecting God’s Children Child Safety training session – This is a 2-hour workshop that is offered throughout the diocese on a regular basis.  A list of upcoming Protecting God’s Children sessions can be found on the Diocese of Manchester’s website, www.catholicnh.org .  Click on calendar to find dates, times and locations of PGC workshops.

 

  1. Code and Policy Acknowledgement Form

·         For those who choose the online training, the acknowledgement will be done electronically.

·          For those who choose live training, go to www.catholicnh.org/child-safety/policies/  read the Code and Policy, download and sign.

 

In addition, the names of all employees and volunteers who work with minors are checked against the national sex offender registry.
