Spring Golf Team 2012. We will be going to the World Cup Driving Range located on Steele Rd in Hudson on Mon. April 9thand Weds, April 11th. It is down the road from Green Meadow golf course on Steele Rd in Hudson NH. Please plan on picking up your children by 4pm. This is to get the rust off the clubs and the golfers. We will be practicing chipping, putting and hitting golf balls with our irons and woods. We will be having 2 practice rounds before Spring Vacation on Monday, April 16th, and Thursday, April 19th , at Green Meadow. Plan to pick them up at between 5:15-5:30pm in the parking lot. Green Meadow has 2 18-hole courses; the Jungle & the Prairie and we never know which 9 holes we will be playing. The golf team consists of 12 golfers and only 8 can play at any one match. I might have to make cuts depending on how many golfers tryout. Parents will also be needed to help me drive to & from the matches. My vehicle fits 4 golfers with clubs. The Tri County Golf Championship is on June 4th at Candia Woods. I can only take my 3 best golfers. All golfers are required to have their own clubs, golf balls and gear. The clubs can be dropped off by their parents and placed in the concession area by the boys’ bathroom in lobby. We meet in the back parking lot to leave for all of our events during the course of the season. During the golf season please ask your last period teacher for assignments before you leave. Schoolwork is a priority. Our home course is Green Meadow on Steele road in Hudson, NH. Parents or guardians are required to pick them up after all home matches at approx 5:15pm The time depends on which foursome the golfer goes out with. If you need a sooner pick up please, call my cell phone which I will provide. Pick up for away matches will be at approx. 6:30- 7pm in the back parking lot at school. The time we return will be determined by determined by the distance we have to travel. The Tri county Golf league is a very competitive league with many good junior golfers. Most of the courses we play on have afternoon leagues that play immediately after us so we have to keep a brisk pace. We have been blessed to have many outstanding golfers over the years and have won the Tri County Championship. Golfers such as Peter Reilly, Tracy Martin and Chelsea Demers continued their success in high school and have even gone on to play in College. The Fall season is just intramurals. It’s a chance to play with your friends and enjoy the game without the pressure of competitive golf. We play once a week depending on the weather into late October. Here are a few things for all to consider: 1. Pack a snack and a beverage in your golf bag along with your balls; tees and other assorted golfing items. The golfers will be on the course or traveling to and from for a minimum of 3-4 hours. It’s a long time between lunch and dinner. The golfers are required to carry their own clubs or have a pull cart and walk the nine holes as well. 2. Have a hat or visor, and a windbreaker or sweatshirt in your golf bag as well. The weather can change drastically as we all know in New Hampshire during the spring. 3. Proper Golf attire is required when playing. A collared shirt tucked into pants or long shorts with either sneakers or golf shoes. School uniforms will do. No gym uniforms.
