Visual Arts at Nashua Catholic

Seeing is Thinking

  

Nashua Catholic’s visual arts program is focused on stimulating creative curiosity and providing each student the opportunity to feel personal success.

 

All 7th and 8th grade students participate in the visual arts course once a week for one semester.  Elements of Art and Principles of Design are integrated into 2-demensional and 3-dimensional media including units on; self expression, drawing, painting, color theory, sculpting, perspective and visual imagery.

 

In art class, students are actively engaged in designing, problem-solving, critiquing, and expressing individuality.  Spiritual, cultural and historical perspectives of art are also explored during lessons and hands-on projects. 

 

Study Hall Art is an opportunity for students to get caught up on their assigned projects as well as free time to work on their own art. 

 

Because ideas come from personal experiences, every student has something unique to offer.  With self confidence and security, students at Nashua Catholic learn how to see, contribute, appreciate, and communicate through art.
