COMPUTER LITERACY
            Grade 7    (1/2 Year Course) 
This is a basic course in computer literacy.  Topics will include the history, vocabulary, how the computer affects our lives, and legal issues associated with its use.  The internet will be used for research and communication.  Social and ethical issues will be discussed.

 Microsoft Professional Office software is used for the application part of this course.  Microsoft Excel is used by the students to setup their own spreadsheet.  Financial, world and sports statistics are some of the topics put on spreadsheets and then graphed.  Microsoft Access is the database program the students will use to do student surveys, address book and history databases.  Word processing is taught through Microsoft Word.  The principles of word processing can then be applied to a variety of other word processors. Research projects are presented using Microsoft PowerPoint .

Students will be introduced to the concepts of developing a web page in HTML.
