Course Description

The Physical Education program is designed to provide an opportunity for students to improve their fitness and well-being through exercise, stretching, and activities, as well as to gain awareness and insight about the role of fitness in the mind/body connection, and in lifelong health.  Students experience a variety of co-operative games, sports, initiatives and activities.

The P.E. curriculum provides for a variety of achievement opportunities and takes into consideration the divergent levels of ability and development, covering a wide spectrum of interests, challenges and brain/body play, and emphasizing sportsmanship, safety and respect for self and others.

Health awareness is incorporated into the Physical Education curriculum, as well as through guest speakers, striving to cover the basics of Nutrition, Substance Abuse and Wellness.

There are no textbooks required.
