Past Award Winners

Helen J. Horan Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a deserving graduating eighth grade student who has successfully completed two years at Nashua Catholic and is continuing on to a Catholic high school. The scholarship will be awarded in four annual installments during the student’s Catholic high school years. The total amount of the four year award will be determined at the time of graduation from NC.

The Bishop Guertin Book Award

This academic book award is given to one eighth grade student who is enrolled at Bishop Guertin High School for the upcoming fall. He or she displays academic achievement in the Arts, Literature, Science and Math. This student possesses strong character and values and is respected by the faculty as well as his or her peers.

The Principal’s Award

This award is given to one eighth grade student at the discretion of the principal for outstanding contribution to Nashua Catholic. This award is not given every year.

The Father Denis Horan Award

This award is a tribute to a former Nashua Catholic school chaplain who had always been a champion and fierce supporter of Catholic schools. A recipient of “The Deny Award” mirrors the attributes of the chaplain: someone who is respectful and unassuming in the classroom, dependable, disciplined in effort and behavior, and hardworking.

The Spirit of The Rose Award

This award is given to one eighth grade student who works hard at helping others cheerfully. This student works consistently, has a positive and happy attitude, and is supportive of peers and activities within the school community. He or she demonstrates the quality of integrity.

Mother Seton Outstanding Youth Award

Our highest, all-around award, it is given to one eighth grade student who best exemplifies the Catholic school philosophy, as well as the Nashua Catholic mission statement. This student: sets, meets and maintains high academic goals; has high moral character; and demonstrates genuine Christian spirit. This recipient takes what he or she has learned in all areas and uses his or her talents to make Nashua Catholic and the world a better place. In addition, this recipient demonstrates the ability to lead in a positive manner.
