The successes of Nashua Catholic and other area Catholic schools and their students would not be possible without the selfless support of our committed educators, administrators, clergy, and lay partners in the community. This year, the Diocese of Manchester will be holding their third annual Recognizing Excellence Awards Gala at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord on Thursday, June 20, 2019.
At the gala, the Diocese will officially honor the School Leader of the Year, Clergy Member of the Year, Community Partner of the Year and most especially our Teacher of the Year. If you are interested in nominating a faculty, staff, or community member from Nashua Catholic, please read the below award descriptions, and use the links below each description to submit your nomination(s). 2019 Spirit of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Award
Named for the great pioneer and leader in American Catholic education, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, the New Hampshire Catholic School Leader of the Year award recognizes a school leader who embodies all of the virtues and traits necessary for Catholic school leadership. The recipient of this award is an academic leader and a collaborative relationship builder, forging connections within and beyond the school community. The recipient leads with joy, vision, and an entrepreneurial spirit. As an active and authentic example of faith, he or she helps students and adults in their school community grow in their relationship with Christ.

2019 Spirit of St. John Baptist de la Salle Award
St. John Baptist de la Salle, patron saint of teachers, dedicated his virtuous life to the cause of making Catholic education available and accessible to all students who desired it. The New Hampshire Catholic School Teacher of the Year similarly views Catholic education not only as a profession, but as a vocation of service to students and to the greater Church. A practicing Catholic active in his or her faith, the award recipient brings a joyful witness to his or her ministry that inspires students to not only achieve academically, but to put their skills and knowledge to good use creating the Kingdom of God on Earth. The New Hampshire Catholic School Teacher of the Year is a lifelong learner, well-respected by his or her peers, and an effectively marries his or her spirituality with pedagogy, effectively and holistically forming the students in his or her care.

2019 Spirit of St. Katharine Drexel Award
St. Katharine Drexel was a religious sister who forewent a life of status and wealth in favor of a life of service and education. She stated to her fellow sisters that “it must be that you depend on lay apostles to bring the celestial fireworks into the market”. Through her partnership with lay stakeholders, St. Katharine Drexel transformed Catholic education in areas where it was needed most. The New Hampshire Catholic Education Community Partner of the Year award is presented to a community member whose gift of time, talent, or treasure is a transformative influence, enabling Catholic education to thrive in their community.

2019 Spirit of St. John Vianney Award
The New Hampshire Catholic School Clergy of the Year award is named for St. John Vianney, the patron saint of parish priests. Amid a time of political turmoil in post-revolutionary France, St. John Vianney ministered with enduring joy, patience, and optimism. The recipient of the Spirit of St. John Vianney Award is a member of the clergy who similarly provides inspirational support for Catholic education in the diocese. The faithful witness that the recipient of the Spirit of St. John Vianney award provides is inspirational to students as they go on to eventually discern their vocation in life.
