Boys XC Places 2nd in Tri-County

It may not have been the best weather day we have seen, but it was one of the better running performances of the year for our boys cross country team. Our Wildcat runners had a great day at the Tri-County Championship meet and placed 2nd overall in their division, and missing a first place finish by a mere 2 points!

In the “B” race, 8th grader Will Thompson ran a tremendous race and finished 1st overall for 7th and 8th graders with a time of 14:36! Other Wildcats who finished in the top 20 of the “B” race include DJ Whalen (8th), Cam Prangley (17th), Matt Nardone (18th), and Noah Zeman (20th).

In the “A” race 8th grader Bobby Canaway led the entire race and cruised to victory; finishing a full 42 seconds ahead of the 2nd place finisher with a time of 12:13! Other top finishers in the “A” race include Joey Hart (15th), Derek Griebel (19th), Chris Prangley (23rd), and Ethan Chmeilecki (25th).

“These boys all ran a great race. It is nice to see the hard work paying off, and I’m very happy with the result from today’s race” said assistant coach Scott Abercrombie.

Go Wildcats!
