It may only be two games in to the long basketball season, but the Wildcat boys varsity basketball team is already showing the potential to be great. “We have a very deep roster this year. We have guys that can really spread the floor, and our returning 8th graders have been showing great leadership through these two games” said Coach Paul Williams.
In the first game of the season, the boys defeated a very physical Hampstead Middle School team 50-29. When asked about the performance after the game, Coach Williams said “we were able to get all 12 boys in the game, and everybody contributed to the victory”.
With the first win of the season under their belts, the boys traveled out to Cawley Middle School in Hooksett, NH and squeaked out another big win. “It was a hard fought battle. Cawley came out very aggressive, and they played a high-tempo game. This is the kind of game you like to see early on in the season because you get a glimpse into the fight and compete level of your squad” said Williams.
It may be early in the season, but so far so good for the boys. The boys varsity team will look to carry on their winning ways as they work to secure a spot in the Tri-County Playoffs later in the season.
