The halfway point of the season has officially come and gone, and our Wildcat boys soccer team is off to a great start. Coming off of a winless 2016 campaign, the returning 8th grade athletes knew that they needed to step up their game to ensure that this season was not like the last.
Combine a determined group of returners, with a talented and athletic set of newcomers, and you are looking at a season where these boys are poised for big things. We are now 6 games in to the season, and the boys team is holding strong with 4 wins and 2 losses on the year. In the two losses, our Wildcats had opportunities to score, but could not convert on their chances.
Thankfully, in recent games these chances have turned to goals rather than missed opportunities. In the four wins on the year the boys have outscored their opponents 30-9. The team is embracing the formation, and willing to move the ball to find the best available option on each play. As we embark on the second half of the year, these boys will continue to work on moving the ball, and finding ways to convert on opportunities that arise to hopefully ensure a playoff birth in the Tri-County Tournament.
