Lady Wildcats Crowned CYO Champions

The Nashua Catholic girls basketball team defeated St. Joseph (Manchester) 27-20 to earn their 10th consecutive State Title!

With a short bench due to injuries and illnesses, the Nashua Catholic Lady Wildcats came into the finals with the next woman up mentality. Faced up against a tall, fast, and physical St. Joseph’s team, our girls knew they would have their hands full, and needed to stick to their game plan to come out on top. In front of a large crowd, our girls were able to control and slow the game down to take away the speed of their opponents.

First year Nashua Catholic coach Dave Schaub could not have been happier with the way these girls played. “Our girls went out and played their hearts out. We knew we would be short, in stature, and in numbers tonight, but that never stopped our girls from playing.”

This win qualifies our girls to compete in the New England Regional CYO Tournament in Bridgeport, CT. Last year, the Nashua Catholic girls team was able to win the regional tournament, and were crowned New England Champions!

Go Wildcats!
