Dave Schaub Named New Girls’ Basketball Coach

The Nashua Catholic girls’ basketball team and current reigning N.E. Regional CYO girls’ basketball champions begin a new season with a new coach at the helm.  Nashua Catholic Athletic Director, Ryan Farris announced that Dave Schaub of Merrimack has been hired to be the new head coach of the Lady Wildcats basketball team.

Mr. Schaub has worked with and coached various AAU teams throughout New England including the New Hampshire Flames. His dedication and love for the game make Coach Schaub a perfect fit for a program coming off a championship season. Last year, the Nashua Catholic girls’ basketball team was crowned Tri-County Athletics regular season champions, NH CYO State Champions, and New England CYO Champions after winning the regional tournament in April.

When asked who his sports hero was, Mr. Schaub was quick to answer the legendary Michael Jordan with mention of his famous quote, “I can accept failing, but I can’t accept not trying.” Mr. Schaub hopes to bring a fun and competitive environment to the season, instilling positivity, skills, and a love of the game.

Athletic Director, Ryan Farris, now in his second year at Nashua Catholic, adds, “We are excited to add Coach Schaub to our outstanding coaching staff and look forward to another exciting and successful season.  His preferred style of a fast-paced offense, along with a focus on promoting sportsmanship and school spirit, makes him a perfect fit for the Nashua Catholic athletic program.”

Nashua Catholic believes that each student can achieve their highest potential through hard work, dedication, and a belief in oneself. Through a rigorous academic curriculum and a variety of extracurricular programs, Nashua Catholic looks to inspire students through action and faith, while also preparing students for a lifetime of learning and service.
